A Day on the
Village Green
Reno Jaguar Club's
All British Car Show and Concours d'Elegance
June 22, 23 and
24, 2007
Cal-Neva Resort at
Crystal Bay, Nevada
Here's to the successful A Day on the Village Green!
This event had over 41 entries and display cars. Entries were
from Nevada, California and Oregon.
The RJC board and numerous volunteers did an outstanding job in
making this happen. Without this dedicated group this would
never have been the victory that it was.
It was inspiring to have all of
your exquisite automobiles in one setting for all to view. You
can just feel all the pride and love from each of their owners,
NAY you touch one of their cars!
I would like to thank the
following people:
First off a huge thank you to
Frank
& Janice Hamilton for taking their prized, one of a kind, 1921
Copper Rolls Royce out of it’s home at the
National Automobile Museum
and presenting it for all of us to view at this special event.
We had so many wonderful
volunteers who gave of their valuable time. There are too many
of you to personally name but I am sure you know who you are.
Thank you for all your help and support!
This RJC board, a group of amazing
people, worked together like a well-oiled machine. This event,
A Day on the Village Green, didn’t just magically
happen. There was lots of planning and organizing that was done
behind the scenes.
Without this governing body this
event would never have come together. They were:
Mike Johnson – A Day on the
Village Green Events Chairman
Gary Dyer – RJC President and
A Day on the Village Green
M/C
Patti Wilder – RJC Vice President,
A Day on the Village Green
Scorer
Mike & Kathy Glass – Social
Directors, A Day on the
Village Green Event
Coordinators & Awards Banquet & Raffle
Dave and Sunny Minedew – Treasurer
and Secretary, Registration for
A Day on the Village Green
Harry Keast – Membership Chairperson, Parking Chairman for
A Day on the Village
Green
Gerard Garra – Chief Judge and Co-Chairman for
A Day on the Village Green
Kathy Dyer – A Day on the Village Green
Co-Scorer
Do you guys remember the FREEZING
Trophy Planning Meeting we held at the
Reno Historic Races?
Where our notes kept blowing away in the icy wind! Or the
trip we made to the Cal-Neva Resort to make sure it was perfect
in every way for this event. We did well except we forgot about
the tree pollen! And do you remember the numerous meetings
at Amelia’s over lunches that were just so-so. And let’s
not forget about the never-ending emails?
Thank you RJC Board for all of
your valuable time, expertise and energy in making this a
success!
We also couldn’t have done this
event without the dedication from our judges!
They were:
Gerard Garra – Chief Judge
Mike Johnson
Harry Keast
Rex Black
Gary Dyer
Mick Collins
Charlie Manchester
Carolyn Manchester
Joe Rajacic
Thank you judges for all your hard work!
I can’t thank EVERYONE enough for
all of your time and effort it took to put this
A Day on the Village Green
together!
Another Special Thank you goes to Tony Settember and his wife
Patti for being our honored guest – Thank you Tony for sharing
your racing experience with us.
Some of you might know Tony from
his car racing days and others might know him from his airplane
flying days. However everyone who knows Tony will agree that he
has a need for speed!
Through all my years with the Reno Jaguar Club I have found this
to be an outstanding, passionate, fun loving group of Jaguar
enthusiasts that you will ever find. The RJC is more then just
a car club it is more like a family with everyone being there to
help each other in all their needs. Be it a stalled car on the
freeway or lessons on how to fix our engines to comforting those
in times of need. You couldn’t ask for a better group of
people.
WE
DID IT!
