RENO, NV - This installment of Featured Car is a truly stunning example of one of Jaguar's finest - a 1995 XJS convertible V-12.  This striking feline is owned by Richard and Patti Wilder of Sparks, Nevada.  "It's fun!" said Wilder, 39, the Reno Jaguar Club's Webmaster, from his Sparks home during a recent interview.  "We just love it!..." chimed in the Mrs. who happens to be the lovely newly elected President of the RJC. "It's soooo much fun, especially when he (Wilder) goes fast!  And I just l-o-v-e the sexy black color and the leather seats are sooo comfortable. And, oooh I love the walnut shift knob, it's sooo smooth!  And it has a walnut dash, and oh yeah it has a V12! I guess that's good, I just know it goes fast! And it's a convertible too, and it has cool rims and an XM radio and seat heaters that really work and the rear view mirror dips when it's in reverse and we bought it from a guy in Oregon named Richard and this one time his boyfriend had to pull him out of the hot tub because a fly landed on the car..." Well, you get the picture - it's a family affair!
In 1995 Jaguar was nearing the end of its XJS run and this would be the last year for the famed 6.0L V12 in the XJS with a total U.S. run of 362 convertibles and 51 coupe's. After regular production of the V12 XJS's ceased in May of '95 a few V12 cars continued to trickle into the States. "The last V12-engined car of all, in fact, was built in the first few days of 1996" according to Graham Robson in his Jaguar XJ-S The Complete Story.
