APRIL 15, 2005 RJC DINNER MEETING

Our April Monthly RJC Dinner Meeting was held at the Round Table in Carson City Nevada.  Again we had over 30 members attend this dinner.  We are definitely on an attendance roll.  Let's keep it up!  The more members that show up for our events the more fun for all!

It doesn't get any better then this!  DAVY JONES a very famous race car driver visited our group and brought a couple of his video's to share!  In 1990 he won the 24 Hours of Daytona and finished second in the 1991 at Le Mans, just to mention two of the many races he won. He gave us a personal insight on what it is like to be a race car driver, the thrills and the perils of the sport.  His lovely girl friend Rachael accompanied him to this dinner meeting.

Besides just giving up this valuable time to talk with our group, Davy also brought an autographed poster of one of the cars he has raced in as a raffle prize. As you can guess EVERYONE wanted this poster.  The lucky winner was Russ Browning.  Russ had a challenge getting it home, as it was too large to fit in his Jaguar.  Dave Miller a guest that evening helped him get it home.

Another famous person, Roger Warrick, also honored us.  He is an artist that has been freelancing in Cincinnati, Ohio, since 1990.   He wasn't at our dinner meeting but he donated a poster of his for our raffle.  The lucky winner was Debbie & John.  Debbie, you win everything!  You can check out Roger's work yourself at: http://www.rogerwarrick.com.

• We NEED members to sign up for "The Day On The Village Green".  Time is running out and Charlie and/or Gerard need an exact car count inorder to finish the details.  There is an application on the last page of our website.  Just copy it, fill it out and mail to: Charlie Manchester P.O. • Dave Minedew gave the treasury report and all is well with our finances
• Harry Keast is still looking for the owners of the new nametags he has.
• John Wittrig gave an update on the Jay Leno trip.  We now know that the date will be either, May 9, 10 or 11.  Jay is to call SOON to let us know which day he can accommodate our group.  I have been working hard on trying to figure out the details of this trip.  As soon as the day is pinned down I will email and/or call all interested members so that you can get a jump on the flights and hotel options that I have come up with.
• Our next meeting will be at Peter & Patricia Smith?s home on May 14, 2005, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.  We are each asked to bring an "English dish" if possible and to please dress accordingly.  Please see more details under "Member News/Dinners".
• The trip to McCloud California the next day was brought up.
