Reno Jaguar Club Christmas Dinner December 2, 2006
The BIGGEST “Thank You” goes out to Mike and Kathy Glass for planning and arranging a fabulous Christmas dinner for the Reno Jaguar Club. Once again the dinner was held at the Genoa Lakes Golf Club. The RJC had exclusive use of the Sports Bar – dining room. This made for a very intimate setting. Marie Stokes and her staff didn’t let us down. They did an excellent job taking care of our needs for the night.
Soft Christmas music played as members warmed up by the fire that burned gently in the fireplace. The placesettings were beautiful and the food absolutely delicious! As members ate a slide show of all the events and dinners of 2006 played on a large screen. Throughout the evening you would hear someone say, “oh look” or “wasn’t that fun!?”
Everyone was dressed so nice. You could tell that Christmas was in the air. Being with the Christmas spirit members brought unwrapped gifts for the Children’s Cabinet to be distributed to needy children. Members also brought non- perishable food items that were delivered by Mike & Kathy Glass to Evelyn Mount for her charitable work in feeding the poor throughout the holiday season. Both benefactors were extremely pleased with the generous kindness of the RJC!
At this years dinner there was a short “meeting” due to the trouble in finding the head officers to lead the RJC in 2007. A ballot was passed out, sugarcoated with a red bow. Gary Dyer decided to run for President and Patti Wilder decided to run for Vice President. Members were to agree or disagree for the two names on the ballot.
Back to the festivities – Santa came!!! Santa brought everyone a gift. Unlike last year where some members got naughty gifts everyone received a very thoughtful, sensational gift. Patti Wilder feels she got the best gift of all. She received an engraved plaque for her leadership as President for 2006. She (I) was overwhelmed! I want to express my sincere gratitude for this special gift! It is such a pleasure to be part of this exceptional club.
It was sad when this party ended. Some members found rooms to stay at the local bed & breakfast while others journeyed back to their homes. All are a waiting to see what exciting dinner/meetings and events 2007 will bring. Another trip to see Jay Leno???
The RJC is grateful for your patronage over the past years. Without everyone’s support this club could not flourish. What a GREAT JOB everyone has done. Let’s make 2007 even MORE FUN then the previous years!!!
Thank you again Mike and Kathy for a job well done! A special thank you also goes out to Sue Johnson for helping with the set-up.
- Merry Christmas Everyone -
