Famous Murphys, Reno Nevada

Meeting Minutes by Sunny Minedew

St. Patrick’s Day was the theme for the March dinner held at Famous Murphys.  President Patti Wilder welcomed everyone.  Gary Dyer was the informal MC,  telling a few jokes, acknowledging members’ birthdays, and encouraging individuals to share stories of how their families emigrated to America.

Treasurer Dave Minedew reported that there is $6,647.44 in the general fund, and $1,585.16 in the Village Green account.  Payment to JCNA for national membership is yet to be made.

Social Directors Kathy and Mike Glass arranged for a silent auction of Jag related items, which was very successful.  A total of $100 was made for the club.

Future dinners and events include an April 22 dinner pizza party, and the Shasta Dinner train trip on April 29-30.

Harry Keast has forwarded a completed roster to JCNA.  The club lost a few members and gained a few, so the total number is the same as last year.  He distributed several badges for new members.

Erick Landau, of Reno Auto Works was the guest speaker.  He is the co-founder of a VW and Audi car group, "The Werks Group - Reno Auto Werks" and wants to reach out to and work with other European car groups in the future.  Check out Erick's web page at http://raw.rowusa.org/.

On April 22 and 23, there will be vintage car racing in Fernley, co-sponsored by Harrah’s Auto Museum and Reno Auto Works.  One hundred and fifty museum quality racecars are expected to be there.  An additional hundred cars will be in the parking lot for viewing.  The admission fee is $15.

On Saturday April 14 Sierra Autosport will open up their garage for a special tech day.

The next dinner will be April 22nd at Sonny’s Pizza in Reno.
