Reno Jaguar Club Dinner Meeting (Scroll down for the photos) Welcome Club members and guests President Gary Dyer introduced new members Bob and Nancy Price, and guests Nick & Loni Collins. Harry Keast introduced guests Mr. & Mrs Mullen. Members were previously asked to wear RED to this “Valentine Dinner”. The club is trying to promote more “flare” – FUN to the meeting. Each month members will be asked to wear certain things. It was amazing how many members did show up wearing something red. Current members then introduced themselves. Bob Price noted that a park was going to be named after him in the Las Vegas area. Sam Dibitonto, who had on a bright red jump suit for Valentine’s Day, was dubbed “Mr. Love.” Birthdays and anniversaries were recognized as follows: Club members with February birthdays included: Lynne Lenker. Membership Dues Because of the difficulty for the Membership Director & the JCNA when dues are not submitted on time, a discussion and a vote were taken at the February Board meeting. It was a 5 - 4 decision and the RJC Board passed a motion to impose a $10.00 late fee if dues were not paid by the February Dinners starting in 2008. For those individuals who do not have e-mail, Harry Keast, Membership Director, indicated that he would send a notice to them regarding the dues by regular mail. RJC New Website Home Webmaster Rich Wilder indicated that the website has changed from .ws to .com, which will provide additional space at a reduced cost of $3.57/month. He was applauded for doing such a fabulous job developing and maintaining the Club’s website. Club Calendars Patti Wilder reported that each member received a RJC calendar, and extras are available for $17.50 each. Tech Session Gary Dyer offered to hold a tech session in his new garage, where members could change oil, filters, etc. and suggested Mike Johnson or Gerard Garra could give a tech talk. This will be held in April, with a definite date set at a later time. A Day on the Village Green Mike Johnson has done a lot of research into venues for the event and proposed, with Board approval, that it be held at the Club Cal Neva in Tahoe. He indicated that it is a nice setting, with a 1920’s historic atmosphere. Room rates are $129/night, and the event will be held in the valet parking lot. The dates of the event will be June 22, 23, and 24. There will be a welcome cocktail party on Friday night, the show will be held on Saturday, and a rally, possibly on Hwy. 88 to the wine country on Sunday. He will prepare a list of committees to handle such things as parking, advertising, registration, etc. Dave and Sunny Minedew volunteered to help with registration. Next RJC Dinner Mike and Kathy Glass announced that the next dinner will be held March 9, at 6:30 at Famous Murphy’s where the menu will be corned beef and cabbage. Everyone is encouraged to wear the color GREEN. Raffle/Trivia Contest Winner of the 50/50 raffle was Pat Campbell.
We got $65 total in raffle so Pat got $32.50. New Business Gary Dyer will sponsor a RJC garage sale at his house, which will be in conjunction with the Saddlehorn Community Garage Sale on May 18th. This is a time for RJC members to sell off on wanted items and it will be a great time to promote the RJC! Car parts and other items will be welcome. An impromptu BBQ will be help after the sale.
