The November Dinner Meeting was held at Mi Casa Too on 4th Street in Reno, Nevada.  The food was very good but what was better was the show and tell by Bob Parshall.   He spoke about the failure of recent eight cylinder engines and how to alleviate this problem by installing a new water pump and filters.   He passed around a water pump, and the transmission oil.  Thank you Bob for sharing this valuable information with us.

Welcome to the Reno Jaguar Club!

We had a silent auction of valuable books and some other miscellaneous items. In the lot that was to be auctioned off there was a beautiful heavy wooden Reno Jaguar Club plaque.  This was donated by Randy Wright.  It was decided that the current RJC President should be able to display this in his/her home or office for the year that they are in office then transferred over to the next President.  Larry Richardson is the proud caretaker of this plaque now.

Members could also pick up their pictures of themselves that were taken at the October Murder Mystery dinner. 

It was my hope that by enticing members to come to the dinner by having a raffle of autographed books and manuals signed by the famous race car driver, Tony Settember.  It was soon learned that our members cannot be tricked into coming to this November meeting.  As MANY members know, November is the election month for voting in new officers to replace the existing board members for the new year.  Members also know that if you are not there you cannot be voted in.

Not to worry.   We were able to complete the board for next year with the members present.

 

We did have a problem with the Social Director position.  Mike and Kathy need a rest after doing this for two years.  The club owes them a big thank you for all the work they did.  We could not get anyone to accept this position so I had a plan "B" ready.  Plan "B" was to divide this position into 12 months and have a different person do only one month, not one person for all twelve as has been done in the past.  A vote was taken and it was decided to try this.  The next step was to ask for volunteers that were present to do a month of their choice.  Six members stepped up and will plan dinners for those six months. That left six months with no dinner/meeting planners.  At this point ALL RJC member names were put into a box to be drawn out at random for the remaining months.  Before this drawing it was asked if there was anyone present who could not or did not want to be responsible for a dinner/meeting.  Those people's names were removed from the drawing.  This is a very fair and responsible way to do this.

I will have "Kits" for everyone on what to do and how to set these dinner/meetings up so this will be very easy to do.  I will have these ready and will give them to you at the January Dinner.
