organizing these next dinner/meetings.
President Larry Richardson said he is proud to be the new president of the Jag
Club, which is now 25 years old. He hopes to have good participation for this
year’s events.
He mentioned that in the Nov. - Dec. 2007 issue of the Jaguar Journal Magazine
that there is a JCNA 50th anniversary commemorative badge that we can purchase
but must do so before Jan 15th to take advantage of the free pin with the badge.
These are a limited edition and only offered for a short time. Also, in the
Jaguar Journal on page 27 it states that if a JCNA member purchases a new top
model Jaguar, JCNA will pay the member up to $1,000 (after the purchaser has
negotiated a price with the dealer.)
Treasurer, Dave Minedew, reported that the Club has approximately $3,200 in the
operating account and $176 in the "A Day on the Village Green" account.
Membership Chairperson, Harry Keast, noted that almost everyone has paid their
dues. He clarified that the difference in price for singles and couples is due
to the cost of the JCNA magazine. On a different topic, he acknowledged Patti
Wilder’s past and present contributions.
Webmaster, Rich Wilder, said if anyone has a car photo they would like on the
web site, to e-mail it to him. He will get it on the members’ ride section. A
want-ad page has also been proposed.
Patti Wilder gave a report on the upcoming RJC San Francisco trip scheduled for
May 10-13. The Egners have graciously offered to make reservations at the
Marines Memorial Club for Jag club members. Details of the weekend include
dinner at the Leather Neck Lounge on the top floor of the hotel and a dinner
dance cruise on the Hornblower and lots of fun excursions in the city. The
number of available rooms is limited; however, members can make reservations at
nearby hotels.
Another event will be a trip to Calaveras County in early June. Rich Wilder said
drivers might want to take Hwy. 4 up and Hwy. 88 back.. Members will be able to
explore the old towns such as Murphys, Columbia, Angel's Camp and possibly take
a tour through "Moaning Cave" and of course there is wine tasting at the various
winery's in the region. Date and details at another meeting.
Several meetings have been held for the drive across Europe trip, which has many
members signed up.
Other business:
Gary Dyer noted that an upholstery session will be held on February 23rd at
Harrah’s Auto Museum.
It was suggested that a link be put on the RJC website to the Auto Museum. This
would be helpful to alert members to its current events.
Don Johnson shared a story that his car and Randy Wright's car were photographed
in Squaw Valley and that the Reno Jaguar Club is represented in a two page
write-up in a U.K. magazine related to an E-Type Club.
Rich Wilder’s 1967 British Triumph Bonneville 650 motorcycle is featured in the
2008 Brit Bike Forum calendar.
JCNA will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. Randy Wright's write up of the
History of the Reno Jaguar Club will be in the 50th issue magazine.
Patti Wilder was thanked for making the January dinner arrangements. Next
month’s dinner will be a Louie’s Basque Corner, arranged by the Keasts.
President Larry Richardson asked for any other comments or concerns. There were
none so Larry adjourned the January, 2008 dinner/meeting.
