November 13, 2008
Zozo's Restaurant, Reno Nevada
President Larry & Ellie Richardson were on vacation to Cancun, Mexico so Patti
Wilder, RJC VP ran the RJC meeting.
Patti thanked Randy Wright for hosting this dinner/meeting at Zozo's. He picked
a wonderful place to have this dinner. We had a private room with a bar set up
just for us. Our dinner consisted of appetizers, a choice of main courses and
even desert - Yum!
Our new member Linda Valle was welcomed by all. Also welcomed back were Joan
Shonnard, Bob & Nancy Price and Ron & Julie Pizer who had been away from our
club for awhile.
The club discussed the RJC's 25th Anniversary Club badges that member, Iain
Buxton, designed and made for the club. The RJC would love to see every member
purchase one (or more) of these badges as a show of pride in our club and to
celebrate our milestone of 25 years as the RJC!
Patti surprised Mick Collins in congratulating him on his up-coming Ph.D!
Here is what was said:
"We will have a "Doctor Mick" in our club tomorrow after his Doctoral
Dissertation Defense
His Ph.D. will be in: Educational Leadership
The title of his dissertation is: 'Engineering Graduate Preparedness for the
Workplace: Employer Assessments of Outcome Based on Education'"
The RJC gave a strong round of applause to Mick for his hard earned
accomplishment
Dave Minedew gave the Treasures report:
He stated that we have $4,288.37 in the operating account and $179.80 in the Day
on the Village Green account. He went on to say that our coming expenses for the
Christmas Party may be about $1500.00 dollars and that we still owe Iain for
badges and that the Village Green usually needs about $1200.00 seed money to get
it up and rolling. Therefore if we break even on the Village Green we should be
ok.

I cannot thank all the volunteers enough for coming forward and
helping the club with all of these upcoming dinner/meetings. It is such a great
relief when this difficult assignment is divided amongst 12 different people
verse our sole Social Director as we had done for so many years. Again, THANK
YOU!
This dinner/meeting was also our club's election night. Patti asked if there
were any more nominations to be added to the ballet. Mike Johnson's name was
added for the position of "A Day on the Village Green" chairperson. Ballots were
