RENO JAGUAR CLUB
CELEBRATES OKTOBERFEST
Home of Mike & Kathy Glass
Saturday
October 18th, 2008
President Larry Richardson opened the meeting by thanking Mike
and Kathy Glass for graciously hosting the club at their home and providing a
wonderful German-themed dinner.
He introduced Linda Valle as a guest, who has a working Jag. He also introduced
guest, Cynthia Langhof, who was the excellent travel agent for the recent JAG
Club European driving tour.
Club members raised their glasses in a salute to Frank Hamilton, a long time Jag
Club member who recently passed away. The Club’s condolences go out to his wife,
Janice.
Larry reported that the Europe trip was very successful. Mike Glass provided
photos which were displayed on his laptop for members to see. Mike has
also submitted a write-up and some photos to JCNA for consideration for
publication in the Jaguar
Journal!
The car badges and lapel pins
commemorating the 25th anniversary of the RJC are available and can be purchased
from Iain Buxton. November/December of this year is the official 25th
anniversary celebration.
The Christmas dinner meeting is being arranged by Sam and Mina Dibitonto.
Invitations will be sent out in the next week or so. The event will be held at
the Hidden Valley Country Club on December 6th, and may include live
entertainment.
Vice President Patti Wilder thanked Mike and Kathy Glass again for their
hospitality. Kathy’s birthday was the following day, which made the get together
extra special. A card was given to her, signed by Club members.
The Manchester's provided some great looking Reno Jag Club stickers, which are
available for $5 each. They can be peeled off and placed on the car. A large one
will be given to Iain Buxton as a thank you for designing the 25th anniversary
car badges and pin, with the thought that it could be placed on Winston’s
trailer.
Patti & Rich Wilder’s son's race team, Stable One, can be seen on December 7th
at 8:00 on the Discovery Chanel HD’s three part TV series featuring the Mustang
Challenge Racing Series called, "Why
We Race".
Patti Wilder noted that next month, November, is the time to elect new officers
for the 2009 year. We should all be thinking about what we can do for the club.
If a member wants to nominate someone, please contact Patti. Nominations and
voting will be at the next meeting.
