On December 5, 2009 we had our annual Reno Jaguar Club Christmas dinner. By popular demand this Christmas party was once again held at the “Genoa Lakes Golf Club” in Genoa Nevada. We had the intimate Sports Bar all to ourselves.
The room was perfect. It hosted a bar so was easy to get our holiday drinks. A sitting area next to the fire was there for warmth and conversation.
The dinner tables were nicely arranged by the picturesque windows with spectacular views of the golf course and the majestic Sierra Nevada mountains. It was a cold snowy night but no one minded the weather as the party took the chill off.
Thirty two RJC members turned out for this festive occasion. This RJC Christmas celebration would not have happen without the hard work of Mike and Kathy Glass and Marie Stokes, the events coordinator for the Genoa Lakes Golf Club. They all did an outstanding job in making this an incredible night for the RJC. We also owe Sue Johnson a big thank you for coming early and setting up the room. Sue was given a nice gift of appreciation for her help. Dinner was announced after our members had a chance to mingle for awhile.
Everyone lined up to help themselves to the offerings of a variety of warm
foods.
The buffet dinner consisted of:
Everything was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!
After dinner a "free" raffle was held. Each member got one raffle ticket. The suspense was thick in the air as the numbers were called. The winners were: Tony Mitchell The prizes ranged from RJC baseball caps, picture frame, bottle of wine to nice ceramic dishes. Once again we owe a nice thank you to Mike and Kathy Glass for setting this up.
There was also a table for the gifts the RJC members brought for the needy children at the “Children’s Cabinet” in Reno. Mike Glass brought his truck so members could put food they brought to help out Evelyn Mount's Food Drive. Some members had so much fun that they didn’t want to go home so spent the night in Genoa at various different Bed & Breakfast.
One brave member decided to brave the hot tub. Our President, Mike Glass, said he was nice and warm in the water as his hair froze on his head!
