Reno Jaguar Club
Dinner/Meeting
February 13, 2009
Butcher Boy Prime

Mike Glass welcomed everyone and thanked the following members: Nick and Lani Collins for arranging for tonight’s dinner at the Butcher Boy Prime (32 members were in attendance), Sam and Mena Dibitanto for the great Christmas party, and Patti Wilder for arranging the January dinner. Patti then introduced a special guest, Davey Jones, who is an honorary member of the club, and a famous race car driver. She noted many of his accomplishments.

Davey then shared several stories of his racing days, including the fact that he drove for Jaguar for 6 years, when he was 21 years old. (A question was asked as to whether he had any mechanical problems and he responded that when the cars had 4,500 to 5,000 miles, they were always replaced by new ones!) Davey now has a driving school at the Fernley race track geared toward teenagers. He brought some of his photos and graciously signed them for RJC members. He concluded that he is delighted to be a part of the Club. He received a round of applause.

A silent auction brought in $81, and the raffle, won by Ron Pizer, netted $55 dollars. Ron’s prize consisted of a bottle of wine, a Jag photo album and Jag money clip. Thanks to Kathy Glass for arranging for the auction and raffle. Thirty two people attended this very successful dinner.
