Bricks Restaurant & Wine Bar
I want to start off by thanking Wendy & Iain Buxton for the Extra, "EXTRA",
special evening they arranged for the RJC at the Bricks Restaurant in Reno,
Nevada!
The evening was PERFECT! The room was spacious. Tables were
arranged so that everyone had ample space and could see each other. There
was a warm fire burning in the built-in fireplace to take the chill off the
evening. I was worried about how many members would show up being that
this was our 1st major Winter storm. I was pleasantly surprised to see the
terrific turnout! I want to give extra recognition to the the following
members for challenging the worst of the storm going through Washoe Valley: Rex
& Dixie Black, Belmont and Joan Reid, and Sue and Mike Johnson! I commend
you for your bravery!
The dinners were scrumptious! Members had an entree choice of: Salmon,
Pork or New York Steak. From the sounds of "yum" all around the room it
was obvious everyone was enjoying their selection.
Some updates on various members:
- It was nice to see Jack and Pat Campbell at this dinner meeting.
Pat has been having some serious issues with her lower back. We all
hope she gets out of pain soon!
- Larry & Ellie Richardson just got back from a three week trip to sunny
Mexico
- Gerard & Lola had a fun trip to beautiful Hawaii
- Ron Pizer is a proud owner of a Model T
- Kathy Glass had a trip to Washington to see her new grandson
- Sunny Minedew was at her private girl's school 50th class reunion in San
Francisco
I also want to take a moment to thank the RJC for their club pride. As
I looked around the room it was fun to see so many members, women & men, wearing
"Jaguar" print clothing! Wendy Buxton had two awesome Jaguar purses,
that's right two purses - one for what we ladies normally put in a purse,
lipstick, cell phone, hairbrush, you know the necessities. In the other
purse was an extra pair of shoes! She brought these along to change into
just in case the high heels, (they were JAGUAR high heels I might add), she was
wearing became too uncomfortable. :>) Talk about RJC pride!
Please see picture below.
November happened to be the RJC Election month. After dessert of
either, Crème Brulee, Chocolate Nut Brownie & Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream
