RJC Dinner Meeting
Resort at Red Hawk Golf Course
April 09, 2010
Finally something very good has come out of
our economic downfall…Red Hawk Resort has allowed us to have dinner in their
private dining room with NO ROOM CHARGE! This is unheard of. Many years ago
I tried to reserve this room for our RJC Christmas party and they wanted a
room fee of $1,000. This did not include the food or anything else. Thank
you George and Marje Tabor for discovering this awesome deal!!!
The spacious room was incredible. We had it
all to ourselves. Nice warm fire burning at the back of the room for members
to gather by and enjoy their beverages. Large tables for everyone to sit
comfortably at eating their catered dinners. Members had a choice of Chicken
Picatta (Lightly floured and pan fried chicken medallions on a bed of
linguini topped with picatta sauce) or Grilled Salmon (topped with lemon
thyme beurre blanc and served with fresh vegetables and wild rice). Everyone
got a crisp Caesar salad and a Chocolate Decedent dessert. YUM!
The meeting was called to order after
everyone commenced with their meals.
George Tabor, President, called the meeting
to order.
He welcomed everyone and thanked them for
driving all the way to Spanish Springs for dinner. He welcomed Randy
Wright's guest, Vesna, to our dinner
Points of discussion were:
- He mentioned that it was nice having a
couple of members from the Sacramento Club at our last dinner meeting.
He wanted to know if anyone had any ideas on how to do a joint
get-together.
- Western States: This meet will be held
on April 26 - 30, 2010. George asked if any other members besides
Charlie and Carolyn Manchester were going.
- It is time to get our cars out of
mothballs. Tony Fakonas mentioned a Tech Session. Gary Dyer mentioned
that he would sponsor the annual "oil change" at his shop
- Dave and Sunny Minedew gave details of
the trip they are planning for our club:
It will be to "Big Springs Garden" in Sierra Springs, CA. "Big Springs
Garden's loves to have car clubs visit them. Sunny said that once we get
to Sierra Springs we need to get turn left at the sawmill . There is a
one acre trout farm and thousands of wild flowers that will be blooming
in June.
They said that this could be either a one day drive or an over-night
trip and that they would get back to all of us with more details
- George asked if anyone needed more
"Tag-A- Jag" fliers. Dave Minedew and Larry Richardson said they needed
some. Patti Wilder will get them some
- George mentioned that in the JCNA Jag
Journal was a list of several RJC members names and times for the
sanctioned Slalom race we did in conjunction with our last "A Day on the
Village Green". The members were: Charlie Manchester, Rich & Patti
Wilder, Gary & Kathy Dyer, George & Marje Tabor, Ron and Julie Pizer,
Gerard Garra, Harry Hart and Mike Johnson. George said he wanted to give
members ribbons for doing so well, but was not able to get this done in
time before this meeting.
