The first 2012 Reno Jaguar Club dinner meeting was held at Yen Ching
restaurant, as has become our tradition.
President Tony Fakonas opened his inaugural meeting by graciously
thanking all whose hard work contributed to a very successful
Christmas party. Especially acknowledged was Patti Wilder, who
provided her well-known attention to detail and to our entertainment.

Guests of Sam and Mina Dibitonto, John and Sonja Iliescu, were
introduced and welcomed.

This month's birthday celebrants are Caroline Manchester and Wendy
Buxton-- Many Happy Returns to both! (Buxtons also celebrating 31
years of wedded bliss)

President Tony thanked the 2011 Board members for their service. In
addition to President Tony and Vice-President Carl Feutsch, continuing
Board members include: Treasurer Dave Minedew, Secretary Wendy
Buxton, Chief Judge Gerard Garra, Membership Kathy Dyer/Harry Keast.

Plaques of appreciation for service to the Club were presented to
members Mike Glass who served as Director of the 2011 Day on the
Village Green Concours d'Elegance held in June at Victorian Square;
and to Mike Johnson who organized and headed the slalom event which
capped the DVG weekend.

President Tony reminded all to pay their 2012 dues promptly, as the
funds are due to JCNA now.

This year's calendar of monthly dinner hosts is beginning to fill in.
A list of months spoken for and months available will be sent out so
everyone has an opportunity to step up and host. It's fun! You get
to pick the venue, menu and date, and then accept the accolades for an
enjoyable club event. Please remember to try to schedule your event
on a Saturday, as has been the preferred day of the week by Club vote.

President Tony is very enthusiastic about or club, its members and the
many interests, skills and talents embodied in our membership. We
have many social and recreational events which are enjoyed by all. As
a car club, he would also like to emphasize the automobile which
brings us together. He suggested that we seek to have six technical
sessions this year. Past sessions have covered a diversity of topics
and techniques, and have been well- attended and beneficial to all.

Alex Evans announced that Track Day at the Reno-Fernley Raceway
http://www.reno-fernleyraceway.com , will be Sunday April 22. There
will be track time and instructional classes for attendees. Other
local clubs who are planning to attend include: Mercedes-Benz Club,
BMW Club, Audi, Porsche and Mustang clubs. Details and logistics of
gathering will be discussed and formulated as the date nears.

Mike Johnson said he is going to plan a future slalom event.

President Tony expressed interest in creating a "Resource Notebook" of
local shops, suppliers and vendors with whom the Club members have had
good experiences and can recommend their business. perhaps this could
reside on our web-site... a "Tony's List", if you will.

The Harrah's Auto Museum Jaguar "shine" will be on Thursday, February
23. Plan to bring your "greased elbows", and join the camaraderie
while shining up our adopted vehicle. Remember: with your RJC
membership card, entrance to the museum is free any day!

The JCNA Western States AGM is March 10,
http://www.jcna.com/agm/2012/index.php events begin on March 6.
While our Club would have liked to support a member to attend the AGM
to cast our vote, we will submit our proxy this year.

Treasurer Dave reports that the Club funds remain stable with over
$600 in the DVG account and >$4000 in the general fund. Dave
proposed, and it was seconded moved and passed, that the Club pay the
Wilders' 2012 dues as a token of appreciation for the exceptional
web-mastery that Rich so generously provides for us.

There being no further old or new business introduced, the meeting was
adjourned, and so concluded President Tony's first 2012 meeting at the
helm.

Best wishes Tony! We look forward to a memorable year under your leadership!

Submitted by Wendy Buxton, with gratitude for the note-taking to my
wonderful spouse, Iain!
