Goals for the Year
Increasing Membership in the Club
Incentives to increase membership included:
Placing notices in the newspaper, perhaps featuring a photo of a
club member’s Jaguar.
Holding an event to celebrate the club’s 25th
anniversary at Harrah’s Auto Museum. The public, as well as
other car clubs could be invited. It would be free for RJC
members, and those who joined the Club at the event. Others
could pay a nominal fee of about $10 for wine/beer and
appetizers. This would also solidify the Club’s relationship
with the Museum.
If there is a way to obtain the names of Jaguar owners, perhaps
through the DMV or other means, notices could be mailed to them,
inviting them to join the Club.
25 Year Badge
A badge or pin featuring the Club’s 25th
anniversary was suggested. Iain Buxton is working on a design.
JCNA is celebrating 50 years and will have 50 year pins. These
could be purchased to give to guest speakers, etc. Both Patti
and Larry will look into this further.
Western Sates Concourse
It was felt that the RJC does not have the resources to host
this event.
In a separate event, Harry Hart shared information about a
Desert Classic scheduled for February 29 through March first.
Details will be posted on the RJC web site.
Club Activities
A review of the upcoming San Francisco and Calaveras County
trips was made. Twenty two people are signed up for the SF trip.
The Wilders are working on the Calaveras trip which will
probably be scheduled for June. Requests will be made of Tony
Mitchell and Gary Dyer to hold tech sessions. Service Days in
May and September and a Detail Day in June were both proposed.
Information on the Autoexotica event, scheduled for the weekend
of June 13, will be placed on the RJC web site. As well, Patti
Wilder volunteered to put together a calendar of events for the
year on the web site.
Dinner/Meetings
Both cash and gift raffles to generate funds for the club have
been held in the past, and will be proposed to the membership
for upcoming meetings.
A suggestion to tour Steve Hamilton’s car collection in Washoe
Valley and have a possible dinner at the Manchester’s in Tahoe
was proposed. Patti Wilder will contact to Charlie and Carolyn
Manchester.
Fund Raisers
Last year’s garage sale was so successful, it was suggested
holding another on in conjunction with the Saddlehorn garage
sale.
Web Page
Members’ who want to place Want Ads will be able to do so, on
the web site. Contact webmaster Rich Wilder for details. It was
decided that members updates and personal information would not
be profiled on the web site.
The meeting adjourned at 1:30 pm.
