President Larry
Richardson opened the meeting and introduced Iain Buxton
to discuss the car badges that he has designed,
commemorating the 25th anniversary of the
Reno Jaguar Club. Larry mentioned that they would like
to have lapel pins or badges to trade with other clubs
on the European trip. After some negotiation, the Board
members' wishes were incorporated into the design of the
badges. Iain has not yet found a vendor, but will
continue looking for one. A price was discussed around
$35 to $50 per badge and Harry Keast was concerned as to
how many people would purchase badges at that cost.
There was also discussion as to whether the badges
should be numbered. Patti Wilder will also check for
some vendors and speak with Sherron Egner who has
manufactured badges in the past.
The JCNA
Western States meeting was discussed, which has an
admissions fee of $600 per person. Larry Richardson
asked if there was anyone in the club who might want to
run for a JCNA regional office. There were no responses
at this time.
Harry Keast was
again concerned about obtaining new members. Dave
Minedew suggested that the Club put on an event such as
a tech session for the public to examine the
undercarriage of their cars free of charge. Iain Buxton
suggested using the Fernley race track for some type of
event. It was also suggested that flyers be put up in
supermarkets or an ad be placed in Deals on Wheels.
This would cost approximately $40.
Dave Minedew
gave a treasury report. There is $4,286.38 in the
operating account and Patti Wilder noted she had an
additional $200 to be placed in the account. The Day on
the Village Green account has a balance of $179.80.
Patti Wilder
stated that she and Mina Dibitonto are working on the 19th
Hole restaurant for the Christmas dinner.
The meeting was
adjourned at 12:45.
