Mike Glass
Mike Johnson
Harry Keast
Sunny Minedew
Dave Minedew
A meeting of the Board was
called to update plans for A Day on the Village Green.
Mike Johnson indicated that
things are progressing smoothly.
Parking Committee
Mike Johnson suggested that a
committee be formed to include one master parker and 2 to 3
assistants for the day of the event. Harry Keast
volunteered his services.
Photos
Mike Glass has a digital
camera and printer, which he will bring to take photos of
the cars.
Security
Although Mike Johnson noted
that there will be a security presence in the valet parking
and an additional area, Mike and Kathy Glass proposed
bringing extra security to watch the cars on both Friday and
Saturday nights, from approximately 9 pm to 5 am. They
have recommended two people, who would be willing to take on
this duty. They are licensed and bonded. It was
suggested that they might provide the service in exchange
for a room and possibly a couple of meals. Mike and
Kathy will check with them regarding price and availability.
Mike Johnson will check with
the Cal Neva to see if bringing in private security is
allowed. He also noted that JCNA provides
blanket car insurance for entrants. A question came up
about whether non-Jaguars are included. Mike will look
into this and bring information to the next dinner meeting.
Raffle
Each participant will receive
a “goody bag,” with items, which Mike Glass suggested,
including one raffle ticket. Local Tahoe restaurants
might be willing to donate a meal as a possible raffle
prize.
DVG Shirts
The Glasses have been
researching embroidered polo shirts for the event. It
was suggested that rather than giving them to each entrant,
they be sold for a nominal charge of $10 each. (If
there were enough entrants, the shirts could possibly be
given away.) Mike and Kathy will bring samples of
different styles to the next Jag dinner for club members to
see.
Trophies
Mike Johnson suggested a
design and offered to make the trophies.
Registration
Sunny & Dave Minedew are
handling the registration materials. It was suggested
that participants be able to pre-register on Friday night.
Packets could be given out during the no-host bar welcome
event. The Minedew’s may need assistance on both
Friday night and Saturday morning.
Badges for officials, as well
as nametags and dash board cards for entrants will need to
be made.
Sunday Drive
A team of 3-4 people will be
needed to come up with ideas for the drive.
Pre-visit to Cal Neva
A drive to the Cal Neva is set
for April 22nd at 10:00 to check out the facilities.
All Club members are welcome.
Advertising
Both Mike Johnson and Mike
Glass have done extensive advertising and will continue to
do so at car events.
