2nd RJC Board Meeting

Minutes:

Dave Minedew stated that we renewed our "Adopt-A-Car" at the Harrah's Automobile Museum for a cost of  $85.00/annually

Harry required about having a special password in our RJC website so only members could view other members personal information such as addresses and phone numbers

Gary Dyer proposes a name change from:
The Reno Jaguar Club to
The Reno - Tahoe Jaguar Club.  

Points to consider:

1. Would other cities be slighted, Carson City, Minden, Garderville, etc?
2. Would our RJC badges have to be updated?
3. Would our Banner have to be changed?
4. Would our letter head have to changed?

This was decided to be brought up at the July RJC Dinner Meeting and a vote taken by all members present..

"The Day on The Village Green" was discussed.  We were wondering why we didn't have very many members signing up for this event.  
Location was discussed.  Possibly too far, not enough exposure from people driving by to stop in, no shade, people too busy
Some possible future sites were:  

• Rancho San Rafael
• Mills Park
• National Guard out the airport
• Montreux - Golf Course
• Harrah's Automobile Museum
• Arlington Center
• Convention Center - by Bowling Center
• Cal Neva

Gary Dyer will donate some gift certificates for free oil changes at his shop, "Classic Car Storage"

Judges for the DVG event are:

1. Gerard Garra
2. Bob Parshall
3. Ron Profitt
4. Gary Dyer
5. Mike Johnson

The meeting for judges on May 28th has been postponed until sometime in early June.

Sam Dibitonto will be the MC for the awards ceremony.

Patti Wilder proposed a request for a PA system to be used at meeting.  She said that members cannot hear the President or guest speakers at our RJC Meeting.

The motion was passed and Patti will look for a good deal for one off of ebay.com

We need to get our name out to the public.  Possible suggestions were:

• Place an ad on Gonna Happen.com - FREE
• Get name/meetings in RGJ

The August Monthly Meeting was discussed.  The meeting is planned for August at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City, NV.  This is going to be a "FREE" RJC monthly dinner, (in this case, lunch) meeting.  All members will bring there own sandwiches and drinks and a side dish, salad, dessert, etc, to share with others.  We want to combine this with the car show/shine mentioned below.

Gerard brought in a letter/application form that was sent to Bob Parshall from the Nevada  train museum.  It was a request for car clubs to come show their cars at the museum.  By doing this participates will receive:

• One free train ride
• One free all day admission to the museum

Since this was where the August meeting was already planned, will be now combine the two.  

There was a conflict on dates however. This will have to be on Sunday, August 14th instead of Saturday, August 13th, 2005.  This is so we can get a ride on the Steam train.  We will  be parking our cars in the park/lawn area.

It was discovered that there is a conflict with the Ironstone Wine Trip with the Reno Air Races. They are on the same day!
