Reno Historic Races 2008

On Sunday May 4th, 2008 some club members attended the 5th Annual Historic Races at Reno-Fernley Raceway. We were treated to some fantastic racing and for a change great weather! We also had right up front parking in the paddock area. This year's events featured The Porsche and the famous racer Vasek Polak. We were also fortunate enough to be allowed three laps on the track at moderate speeds during the lunch break, but I just couldn't seem to get the pace car out of the way so I could stomp on the accelerator in the straightaway! Mick Collins had a passenger that worked for the local PBS Station here in Reno so we may even be featured on an upcoming program. Those attending were Mick Collins in his 2004 XKR Roadster, Harry Keast in his 1994 XJS V-12 Coupe, new member George Tabor in his 2004 XKR Roadster, Alex Evans in his Mercedes Benz SL500, Rex Black in a friend's BMW Dinan, and Mike Glass in his 1967 Mark II. It was a great time and the racing was loud and fast.
