Day Trip to
Wellington, NV On Saturday April 11th, 2009
some members of The Reno Jaguar Club joined with The Reno British Car
Club for a scenic drive through the countryside. Even though Friday
night was rainy, Saturday dawned bright and clear with temperatures near
65 degrees by days’ end. The Reno Group met in S. Reno and caravanned
to S. Carson and met up with another group from the valley. The group
totaled about fifteen cars altogether including members from both
clubs. We headed south through Genoa and ended up in Wellington, NV for
some awesome Basque food at The Historic Heyday Inn. What a quaint
little place to gather. Our food included Basque Chicken, Tri-Tip Steak
, Salad, French Fries, drinks, and Cake and Ice Cream for dessert!
After lunch the Reno British Club held their monthly meeting and those
of us from the Reno Jaguar Club introduced ourselves. Everyone was on
their own after lunch and some came home the same route as they arrived,
some took the branch to Yerington, others came home through the Walker
River Canyon and Bridgeport. It was a great drive and we had some great
fun, food, and camaraderie! Those from the Jag club included Ron and
Julie Pizer, Mike Glass joined in Carson by Mike Johnson, Tony Mitchell,
Rex and Dixie Black also met us in Carson as did Peter and Patti Smith.
A great showing from the club! Mike Glass
