Reno Jaguar Club's
1st 2010 Car Cruise Details: Thank you Sunny & Dave Minedew for arranging such a fun outing for the RJC. Our cars were so tired of being garaged all winter so this road trip is just what they and their owners needed!
Twenty Two Reno Jaguar Club members met at 10:30 AM at the Gold Ranch parking lot on HWY 80. All were excited about going on a road trip to Big Springs Garden just outside of Sierra City, California. The caravan of eight jaguars left the parking lot at 10:45 AM to begin the drive. One couple was missing but it was decided that we needed to leave and hopefully they would find us at the barbecue buffet at Big Springs. We made one stop on the way at exit 188, the intersection of Hwy 80 and Hwy 89 where we picked up the Manchester's who were waiting to join our caravan. What was truly amazing is from there on, all the way to our destination, we were in line, no other cars inter-mixed with our beautiful jaguars. We had lots of observers admiring our parade. What a beautiful drive it was. The country side was breath taking and the temperature was perfect, especially for the jags with their tops down. No need for a sweater but a hat was practical. We arrived at noon and were welcomed by the host to a special roped off parking corral just for our jaguars. Very nice touch. We were also treated to hors d'oeuvres and a leisurely walk in the gardens that surrounded this property before our barbecued lunch was served. To our relief our missing members were there. They said that they had company and had to wait until they left to catch up with us. They beat us by taking a different route! The buffet consisted of: YUM! We were told that we came on the "perfect day" as the day before was windy, rainy and much cooler. We couldn't have asked for nicer weather for our outing.
