Autoexotica Downtown Reno June 9, 2007 On Saturday June 9th, 2007 some members of The Reno Jaguar
Club attended an event in downtown Reno called
Autoexotica. It was a collection
of some awesome autos including Ferrari, Porsche, Corvette, Lamborghini, Ford
Mustang Saleens, and last but not least JAGUAR! The day was great with light
winds and lots of sun. We had a prime location right in front of The Eldorado
Hotel and Casino and with S. Virginia Street blocked off for the event we had
great foot traffic. One member, Alex Evans, was walking the lineup and noticed
that most of the onlookers seemed to linger quite a bit longer at the Jaguar
stable. It was a great way to showcase our club and the beautiful autos we own
and DRIVE! Members attending and their cars; Rex and Dixie Black and their 1973
XJ12 complete with Chevy 350 motor exquisitely done by Rex himself, Alex Evans
with his 2004 XKR Supercharged Convertible, Mayor Sam and his 1957 XK140 was
also a huge hit. Kathy Glass overheard one gentleman say "you will never see
one of those again!", Don Johnson and his British Racing Green 1970 XKE OTS was
another crowd pleaser. Don was great and even gave a young woman a ride around
the block. New member, Don "Snoshu", Thompson was in his 1986 XJSC V-12. Mike
and Kathy Glass were in their pristine 1996 XJ6 Vanden Plas. Randy Wright was
debonair in his 1997 Aston Martin DB7 Volante. We all had a great time and the
crowd was very appreciative of the Club. We even handed out many fliers for our
upcoming event. We also spoke with several folks that own Jaguars and had not
heard of the club, but promised to attend our show and possibly join our great
