The following is a picture diary of our RJC Jay Leno Trip  on May 10 - 11, 2005.  Everything went off without a hitch.  The flight attendants on our flight to Burbank were a lot of fun teasing us over the loud speaker about our meeting with Jay Leno.  After we landed we scouted out the Super Shuttle pickup point (thanks Gary) and we caravanned in the shuttles to the Coast Annabella Hotel.  We checked into our rooms and then had a late lunch in the hotel's restaurant.  We all met in the lobby at 2:30 and had another caravan of six taxi's waiting to take us to "The Tonight Show".  We were escorted to our seats approximately 1/2 before the show started.  Before the show there was a "warm up" period to get the audience fired up.  A few people were chosen from the audience and our own John Wittrig was one of them.  Each chosen person, contestant,  had to dance to a song.  John was AWESOME!  Each contestant got a prize.  John got a black, "Tonight Show" hat.  As you can see or should I say can't see is that there are no pictures taken inside the studio.  Cameras were forbidden - darn!

After the show we all gathered outside and found a "Surprise" limousine.  It was not what the RJC members expected.  Our limousines turned out to be one 24 passenger stretch Hummer!  It was equipped with a bar and neon lights to set the mood.  It was very cramped but everyone was a good sport and added this up to another experience to the trip.

The only word I can use to describe Jay's car collection is "Amazing".  He had so many different and rare cars it would be impossible to describe.  So look at the pictures to get an idea.  Jay was quite the host and spent a good hour with us.  He went into depth on each car.  We found it fascinating that he knew so much about each and every car!  We gave Jay a gift of a small engraved clock that was in the form of a  racing car.  For a thank you card we thought we would be clever and give him something unique.  We gave him a "Candy Gram".  This was a 20" X 25" poster with candy bars in place of words, see photos below for more detail.  We invited Jay to have dinner with us but we could tell he was tired and he said no thank you.

We once again got back into the stretch Hummer and went to Gordon Biersch for dinner in our own private room.  The food was good, the company great!  Thank you everyone for buying the Wilder's and Wittrig's, (McMurtrey), the organizers, dinners.  That wasn't necessary but a very nice thing to have done.  Once again we combined taxi's and went back to our hotel for the night.  Some of us stayed up to watch the "The Tonight Show" that we had gone to the taping of.

The following morning we met for breakfast, rehashed the day before and packed up and headed once again to the airport.  It was a fast, fun trip and something we will all remember for a very long time.
